DAY 1

Depart Siem Reap for the local village of Preah Dak to sample a delicious local speciality, nam ben chuk rice noodles. Continue to the Banteay Srei Butterfly Centre to learn about the lifecycle of these arthropods. Later stop at a traditional sugar palm village to learn about palm sugar. Nearby is the Cambodia Landmine Museum, a flagship centre promoting mine awareness, an essential stop in understanding Cambodia’s recent history. Head to beautiful Banteay Srei, Angkor’s ultimate art gallery. Enjoy a local lunch before walking to the baray (reservoir) to take a boat ride. Continue to Kbal Teuk Community Forest for a trek to see the varied flora and fauna, including carnivorous pitcher plants. Later, travel to a traditional village to stay in a local homestay.

Day 2

In the morning, take a short village walk to learn about local life and agriculture. Then join the morning wildlife tour at the Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity (ACCB), a rescue centre for wildlife that is home to many rare species. After lunch, we travel to the 12th century temple of Banteay Samre. Finish with a trip to the hilltop temple of Phnom Bok, which offers stunning views.
