Depart Siem Reap for Angkor Thom District to visit the silk weaving centre at the Institute for Khmer Traditional Textiles. There is also a homestay here for those that do not want to camp in the forest. Continue to the curious rock formations of Poeung Tanon in Angkor Chum District. Enjoy the views over lowland Siem Reap while exploring this area of natural beauty. Experience  a local lunch at the site and meet the friendly monks that have made a home here. After lunch travel to remote Varin District and the natural wilderness that is Chung Kran Roi Forest. Set up camp at the small jungle waterfall here and enjoy a local meal in this peaceful setting.

This morning take an early trek to visit the famous ‘chung kran roi’ that give this area its name, hundreds of strangely shaped lava rocks that resemble cooking pots according to local villagers. It may also be possible to spot some rare birdlife in this remote forest location. Enjoy lunch back at the waterfall before travelling back to Siem Reap via the Angkor-era temple of Prasat Kiri San., which sees very few visitors compared with more popular Angkor temples near Siem Reap town.
